While you can hunt for deals when you have plenty of time, looking for affordable first-class flights during an emergency is hardly feasible. Fortunately, it is quite possible to find reasonably priced tickets when you are desperate.

Why Avoid the Economy Class

Last minute first-class deals enable you to take you journey luxurious and comfortable. Just because you were unable to pre-plan your trip months in advance does not mean you are stuck in the economy class. The economy class tends to have certain health effects, especially if you are planning to travel pan Europe or Transatlantic. Thrombosis is a common problem faced by long haul passengers. This is caused by the lack of movement. Also, passengers are closed closed to each other for a number of hours, which can increase the risk of contracting illnesses.

Travel without Feeling Fatigued

The business and first class are extremely spacious and comfortable – the perfect way to make a long trip. With the ambience of a five-star hotel room, it's less likely that you will feel drained from your journey. If you have a board meeting the next day or need to attend a special event, you will not show up looking and feeling tired. You can sleep and get refreshed in your first-class in-flight space. You will have complete presence of mind when you go about your schedule. Look for last minute business-class deals that are promising.

Find Great Deals

Look for an established travel agency that specializes in last minute first and business class deals. A good company has a successful history of great eleventh-hour deals. Read through client testimonials and feedback. Compare various companies to get the best quote for your needs. After all, the goal of the deal is to provide the best quality service at economy class rates. Once you have located a reliable executive travel agency, you can continue to consult them for your business flights that can be difficult to plan at times.

So the next time you are in desperate need of affordable last minute business-class deals, you know you are prepared, even at the eleventh hour. All you have to do is to locate a trusted agency that offers great flight ticket bargains regardless of your situation.

Leather Travel Bags and Cabin Baggage

The reason we now live in the 'global village' is because traveling from one country to another has never been so easy, quick, and arguably inexpensive. The research and booking process for flights have been revolutionized by the Internet and have facilitated the growth and prosperity of for example the budget airlines. There are however some aspects of international travel that just seem to get more difficult. How many of us less frequent flyers for example would know exactly what items we can and can not take in our hand luggage / cabin baggage even after the public generated in the wake of the terrorist attacks? Also, how many of us would know the exact weight restrictions for our baggage prior to flying with any particular carrier or airline? Quite apart from the concerns about baggage weight, the wider choice of airlines available to us has also led to reasonable confusion among passengers in the acceptable size / dimensions of pieces of cabin baggage.

Cabin Baggage Dimensions

As airlines try to utilize space, improve efficiency, improve safety, lower costs and increase profits, space allowance in the overhead baggage lockers has come into sharp focus. In recent years where scheduled airlines form the UK were concerned, The Department of Transport attempted to provide definitions of the maximum size of hand luggage / hand baggage / cabin baggage, but since 29th April of 2010 this is no longer the case. The size therefore is now down to the specific airlines. This of course has only increased confusion as each airline could (and often do) have different maximum size restrictions. Just taking 2 airlines for example, Ryanair specify maximum dimensions (in centimetres) of 55 x 40 x 20. Easyjet on the other hand specify 56 x 45 x 25 cm.

The Challenge

Finding the travel bag that will be within the maximum size restrictions for most airlines, can comfortably meet all of our modern storage requirements, and will withstand the stresses and strains of travel for years to come and still look good is the challenge.

Leather Travel Bags

Many of the modern smaller cases with hard outer shells may be protective but they're also very inflexible. Many holdalls, and travel bags are made from weaker synthetic materials which provide little protection for the items inside and are sooner to tearing. Would your travel bag for instance provide adequate space and protection for laptop computer?

Some of the great benefits of good quality leather are strength, durability, flexibility, and that keeps looking good over time. There are now many different styles of leather bag which would in most cases meet airline restrictions, and provide the ultimate modern storage and protection solution to all travelers' needs. For example a Cortex Travelers PC leather briefcase easily meets most maximum size restrictions at 42cm x 30cm x 18cm and is specifically versatile in its uses and applications. A trolley bag, cabin bag, cabin holdall, cargo holdall, computer cabin case, trolley bag, rolling case, and messenger bag are just some of the options of travel bag styles available to today's travel bag buyer, all in high quality leather, and many of which incorporated the all important padded laptop compartment. The strong straps and handles mean minimal wear and tear, and features like a variety of zipped pockets and organizer pockets allow you to be more organized and to have the important contents to hand when you need them.

Top 5 Airline Companies

There are several airline carriers that provide domestic and international flights. While some only service regional airports, others offer multiple routes and are known the world over. When it comes to selecting the top airline companies, there are a lot of factors to consider. This includes passenger satisfaction, along with the volume of timely arrivals and departures. Airlines are also judged and weighed according to the services they offer. In fact, industry ratings and passenger testimonials can literally break or make any domestic or global airline. While we all have different opinions, industry experts have selected the following companies as the top airlines in the world.

Delta Airlines

Delta is synonymous with first class services. As an industry leader in commercial aviation, Delta offers the most international flights out of the US With its hub in Atlanta, Delta also offers an intensive fleet of planes for optimal convenience. This includes the elegant and lavish 747, along with the MD 88 and 90. Delta has also been commended for its customer service and ease of booking flights. With a friendly and courteous staff, Delta guaranteed top notch services for all domestic and international passengers.

United / Continental Airlines

Both United and Continental Airlines have been around for years. When these global brands decided to merge, it was simply a marriage made in heaven. With its hubs in Chicago, Denver, and now San Francisco for Pacific routes, United remains a dominant force in the commercial airways industry. With both non-stop and connecting flights, United offers a myriad of routes and ticket specials on a daily basis. While their fleet is not as extensive as Delta, the recent merger with Continental is slated to propel United to the top of the ladder soon.

Southwest Airlines

No airline list is complete without Southwest Airlines in the mix. As the top rated airline company for low cost rates, Southwest is heralded for its convenience and practicality. While regional in nature, Southwest now flies direct to many national destinations.

American Airlines

American Airlines used to be major player back in the early days of commercial aviation. In fact, it had a long standing rivalry with Pan-Am airways and other defunct airlines. Today, American Airlines still has a loyal and faithful passenger base. Most of their customers, however, have been enticed by Delta and other major carriers over the years.

US Airways

Last but not least is US Airways. While ranking fifth on this list, its merger with America West has increased both its fleet and passenger base.

Lanseria Airport started out as a grass strip airfield about 30 years ago, the brain-child of two Pretoria pilots – Fanie Haacke and Abe Sher. The land was originally bought by Krugersdorp and Roodepoort Municipality together with the Transvaal Peri-Urban Board and contracted to Lanseria Management Company on a 99 year lease since 1972. In 1991 it was sold to private investors.

The airport was officially opened by the Minister of Transport at the time, Hannes Rall, on the 16th of August 1974.

Soon after it’s opening Lanseria Airport hosted the Air Africa ’75 (in 1975). This event was the first time South African buyers could select aircraft and the aircraft equipment from companies located in the US, Canada, the UK, and France.

A very proud fact for the airport concerns Nelson Mandela: When the former South African president was released from prison in 1990 he was flown to Johannesburg landing at Lanseria Airport.

Visas for Round the World Travel

Checking visa requirements for the countries you're visiting is essential. There's nothing worse than arriving somewhere and being told you can not enter because you have not got the right paperwork.

So, what is a visa? In short, it's a stamp or form placed in your passport when you enter (and sometimes when you leave) a foreign country. It shows permission to travel to, enter, transit or stay in a country. It does not guarantee entry – that remains the right of the country's immigration officers.

What do you do to get the required visas? If you're organizing your itinerary independently of a travel agency, you need to check with the embassies of each of the countries you're planning to visit. If you're organizing your itinerary through an agency, they should be able to advise you.

The rules for entry vary, so it's worth checking ahead of time. Here are some of the things you may need to bear in mind.

Application times
Application times vary. It could take weeks, or you could pick up your visa online or on entry to the country.

Cost
Visas are sometimes free, but they can also cost up to £ 50 or £ 60.

Length of time on your passport
To enter some countries your passport must still be valid for up to eight months.

Airline tickets
To get some visas you have to be able to show your airline tickets on application. In other cases, you must be able to prove you have an onward ticket from the country.

Jabs
Some African countries insist you have a Yellow Fever certificate.

Medical insurance
It's worth checking the requirements for medical insurance. However, if you're traveling around the world, it's highly recommended that you get insurance anyway.

Maximum stay
All countries quote a maximum amount of time you can stay. Make sure this fits with your schedule.

Invitation
In rare cases, to visit a country you will need a letter of invitation.

Funds
In other rare cases, you will need to prove that you have sufficient funds to stay in the country – and also enough money to leave.

Clothing
Check clothing requirements, as some countries reply entry to people who do not comply with rules for general appearance.

How To Lower Traveling Expenses

It's a known fact that we all love to travel, but in my previous article that I have written, I mentioned our biggest setback that prevails us from traveling as much as we would like to is money. A major of us are in the average salary range, we're not millionaires and we do not have much money to just go traveling whenever our heart desires it. But if you could travel every week, would you? What if I said you could travel twice a month, to almost anywhere in the world, and stay in your current pay bracket? Without having to live in a cardboard box afterwards, would you believe me? Part of this article will show you how.

If you're looking for airline tickets, cruise tickets, or hotels to accomodate your travel, chances are that your first stop is Orbitz, Expedia, Cheaptickets, or any other of the known names that discount tickets, hotels, and cruises for you. You will save money when you use these services, no doubt about that, and they have always been great choices for discounting and lowering your travel tickets and hotels.

Another great way to discount or lower your travel expenses is if you know someone close to you or relatives that work in an airport, on an airline, on a cruise boat, or a hotel company you could save hundreds of dollars on travel expenses. It's a good chance that you might know someone like this since the travel industry is HUGE.

By now you're probably asking, "What if I do not know anyone in the travel industry?" Believe me, I hear you and I know exactly what you mean. I have created a blog on how I lowered my travel expenses by a huge margin, you can view the blog in my author box below.

Family Vacations Tips – 6 Ways to Bring the Costs Down During Your Family Getaway

Whether you're headed to the Bahamas, Hawaiian Islands, Alaska, or a big city with the kids, there are always ways you can save money here and there on family vacations.

Here are a few budget tips to help you keep the costs of family travel down:

1. Consider staying at a hostel with access to a kitchen. You might not get your own private kitchen, but do you really need one? Hostels can be very cheap and many are just as clean as the average hotel. Even if you book two private bedrooms with multiple beds at a hostel, you will still pay less than what you would for a hotel suite.

2. Keep an eye out for free admission days. Most museums, national parks, gardens, zoos, etc … have a free admissions day at least once a month for one reason or another. All US National Parks have free admissions on Veterans Day, MLK Jr. Day, National Public Lands Day, and the first day of National Park Week. It's always a good idea to plan family vacations around these holidays.

3. Save on water, milk and juice by bringing reusable bottles with you everywhere you go. Most public places including airports and hotels have water fountains, so you can simply refill bottles with free, clean water.

4. If you need to rent a car, keep in mind that family-sized vehicles tend to cost more than an economy car. Look for discounts and promo codes wherever possible. Compare the rates of multiple rental companies at once. Do not just pick the lowest priced one, take the time to read the terms and conditions regarding gas options, GPS, whether or not child seats are free or have additional costs, etc.

5. If you do not want to do the hostel thing during family vacations, then stay at a hotel or resort where kids eat for free. In case there is not much of a meal selection at the hotel or resort, at least stay at a place near restaurants where kids get to eat for free. Also, most hotels these days have mini-fridges in each room. Go get a few groceries your first day there and make use of the fridge.

6. Travel discount sites are not just for saving on airfare, cruises and rooms. You can often find promo codes and coupons that you can use for entertainment, tours, and other "things to do".

In Conclusion

Keep these tips in mind when going on family vacations. Every little bit you can save will really add up after a few days.

Online coupon codes and promotional offers are useful for booking family vacations . You can use the site's tools to not only find discount travel prices, but to help you plan your itinerary as well. There are a lot of helpful resources that are easy to use.

How to Choose the Right Travel Luggage for Your Vacation

As exciting as traveling can be, it also comes with some stressful aspects. Hurling luggage to and fro can be a breeze, or it can cause strain on your travelling experience. The first thing you need to do is consider your travelling style and cater specifically to those needs when choosing the right travel luggage for your vacation. With that in mind, we have compiled a list of some important things to consider beforehand.

Suitcase or Backpack?

We mainly focus on suitcases rather than backpacks in this article for the following reasons:

  • Convenience

Maneuvering through airports with a lot of people and traffic, while carrying a large weight on your back is not easy. Suitcases are a lot simpler to maneuver through traffic with ease.

  • Wheels

Simply roll your luggage with ease. This is our top reason for picking a suitcase.

  • Organization

A backpack does not give much organization leeway. You’ll only have access to a top-loading packing mechanism where you will be forced to remove everything to reach an item at the bottom. A suitcase gives you a clear view of all your belonging as soon as you unzip or open it.

  • Impressions

Carrying a backpack doesn’t really look good.

Hard or Soft?

You should choose your travel luggage based on your travelling needs. For example; are you travelling for business, or for fun? Are you planning to carry any expensive items that might break easily? A hard carry-on is perfect for anyone carrying items such as an expensive camera, or if your vacation is going to be in areas with harsh weather conditions. Hard casing will offer protection to any item prone to breakage.

Soft luggage is perfect for anyone looking for added storage. These bags can expand making them ideal for anyone wanting to carry some souvenirs back with them. Also, soft carry-on cases are easy to stuff into an overhead compartment.

Size

One main thing to keep in mind is to never purchase a carry-on that’s larger than you can actually lift over your head. Next, how long is your vacation going to last for? Many people are able to survive with fewer items than others but when visiting a foreign place, a smaller carry-on is more ideal. Before purchasing a carry-on, inquire about that specific airline’s international and domestic size requirements.

Some airplanes allow smaller carry-on’s so it’s best to always restrict yourself to buying a suitcase that’s approximately 21 x 13 x 9 and aim for a weight of 15 – 20 pounds.

Here’s a breakdown of some popular carry-on sizes:

  • International carry-on size is mostly 18 – 20 inches
  • The most popular size of a carry-on is 21 – 22 inches – This is a great size, offering ample space, yet light enough to lift. You can travel for a month without much hassle.
  • If you’re travelling with a loved one, then a medium size would be perfect. So, consider purchasing a 23 – 24 inch carry-on.
  • For those who love having extra space, then 25 – 27 inches will provide you with lots of room to carry your souvenirs or your clothing items. Also, if you are vacationing with your family, then you can easily fit everyone’s belongings into just one of these suitcases for easy handling.
  • A 28 – 32 inch size is simply too large for a travel suitcase. It’s very bulky and can be very hard to maneuver. This size is simply best suited for anyone planning to move abroad or anyone thinking of going to live in another country for long durations of time.

Sometimes it might be better to purchase two smaller suitcases as opposed to buying a large, heavy one. Granted, you’ll have to pay extra but it’ll be worth it because you won’t have to worry about stuffing everything into one bag or, incurring overweight fees when travelling back home with some souvenirs.

Color

It’s best to purchase a bag with unique prints and colors. This way, you’ll find it easy to spot it on the luggage carousel. Also, you won’t accidentally mistake it for someone else’s bag.

Wheels

Wheel choices come in two options; two or four. Two wheels is the most common as these bags tend to be lighter and easier to run with. You can also yank your bag over stairs with ease without having to manually lift it. However, these type of cases tend to tip over easily.

Four wheels stand upright allowing you to easily roll them sideways in crowded or shallow pathways, such as inside a plane.

Look for bags with locking wheels – this will prevent your bag rolling away.

Material

Always make sure that your luggage has water resistant materials or it has at least been treated with a sealant on the inside to keep your belongings dry. This is quite important as sometimes your luggage might be placed on wet, sticky, or dirty surfaces by baggage handlers.

If your bag doesn’t have a moisture-resistant sealant, then simply line the top and bottom of your suitcase with plastic bags (a garbage bag or a dry cleaning bag will do just fine.) This simple trick will keep your clothes dry even if your suitcase gets wet on the outside.

Straps

Purchase a suitcase that comes with adjustable straps. These straps will help keep your belongings secure and compressed.

Piggy Back Clip

Have you ever seen those looped clips located on top of some travel bags? They are called piggy back clips and they allow a traveler to clip a smaller second bag on top of the larger one – this way, your items will stay secure together throughout your travels.

If your carry-on doesn’t come with any piggy back clips, you can go online and buy one for a reasonable price.

Compartments

Compartments come in handy when you want to organize your belongings. For example; instead of storing your small shampoo, or liquids, with your clothes, store them in an external pocket (this will prevent your clothes getting ruined in case of any spillage). Plus, they’ll be easy to locate when the need arises.

Game Day Can Take Your Wallet to New Lows

We are almost halfway into the football season. Whether you are at home, at the stadium or snacking at a sports bar and you already know being a football fan can get a little pricey. How can you be a dedicated fan of football without breaking the bank and have a little left over for the savings account. Below are some recommendations for locking in a budgeting touchdown.

Going to the Game

There's nothing like going to the game to watch your favorite team. From tailgating to cheering with the fans, there's nothing better than the camaraderie and energy in the stands. But, you can burn through a lot of money when you head off to the stadium. Tailgate parties can be fun but they have their costs. Ticket prices are steep because of the popularity of the game. Add that to the cost of snacks, beverages and souvenirs, you can quickly see how game day expenses could get out of hand.

When obtaining cheap tickets for the game, make sure you check out reseller websites (NFL Ticket Exchange or StubHub) for all the best deals. Especially if your team is not doing very well you could get some great bargains. If you happen to be traveling to the game, you might want to use hotel or airline points to save some money. Or, if you are driving, consider taking a bus or shuttle so you do not have to pay for parking.

As mentioned above, creating a "tailgate buffet" can be an inexpensive way to save on game day. To save on the tailgate itself, make it a potluck, where everyone brings a dish to share or split the cost of food between all tailgaters. The objective of the tailgate is to celebrate with your fans, so do not worry about serving exotic foods. Keep it simple so you can focus on fun.

Opt for Your Own Couch

Watching the game at home will be the most budget-friendly possibility. If you want to watch the game with your friends you can always throw a potluck or throw money into a hat and order out.

Not in the mood for a party? Get your game day food at your local market. Be sure to check and see what items are on sale for the weekend. You might even think about buying some game day items in bulk from your local wholesale club. That can save you a lot over the course of the reminder of the football season. Best of all, you will be able to eat inexpensively in the comfort of your own living room while enjoying the game.

You can also dump your cable. The cable and satellite companies charge a large monthly fee for a football package on top of your existing cable bill. There is a cheaper option. You can access your local network games with an antenna or you might try a streaming service like Sling TV. There are many inexpensive options out there for sports fans.

Heading Out to the Sports Bar

If you want to be cool and high-five with strangers while you watch your team, then a sports bar is the place to go. Just be prepared to spend a lot of money chest pumping with your fellow sport aficionados. Make sure you take advantage of the game day food specials. Or check Yelp and other social media sites for check-in deals. You can always bring friends with you and you can split the cost of your beverages and appetizers.

Hopefully these tips will help you enjoy the rest of the football season without breaking the bank. I hope we have illustrated you do not have to dish out major bucks to enjoy your favorite sporting event. It's all about creating your ultimate experience within your personal budget parameters.
